Hello Rhio,

i have tried to make the rejuvalac and had sometimes excellant batches and other times not so good.. just as you said in your book- Hooked on Raw. I'm wondering if i understand the measurement of the grains correctly? When i measure 1/2- 3/4 c of "unsoaked" grains then sprout them, this way seems to work best. However, I understand from your recipe that the measurement is 1/2-3/4 cup of "sprouted" grains. I'd rather use the latter recipe but the flavour seems to be on the weak side..??.. Can you help me out here?

Much kindness,

Shira

Dear Shira,

Either way will work. If you measure and then sprout you will have more sprouts but that is ok. There are many different ways to make the Rejuvelac. If that way works better for you and you get the Rejuvelac flavor the way you enjoy it, then do it that way.

When I wrote the recipe for the book, I based it on the way they were doing it at the Ann Wigmore Institute in Puerto Rico. Perhaps because they've got a tropical climate, they can use less sprouted grains and still get a good strong Rejuvelac. Although I measured everything to make sure the recipes for my book were easy to duplicate, when I make recipes for myself I usually don't measure, so it could be that when I make the Rejuvelac for myself I am using more grains too.

Somebody just put together a way to make Rejuvelac with step-by-step pictures that looks pretty good too, using more grains. Here is the link: http://www.hishealingways.com/rejuvelac/makerejuvelac.html

With blessings,

Rhio
