HAPPINESS, BLISS & INEFFABILITY
You
can't eat happiness
You can't buy it. You can't wear it.
You can't drive it, or drink it, or sell it, or steal it.
You can't lock it away. You can't negotiate for it.
You can't win it, you can't marry it, you can't inherit it,
you can't cheat it. You can't smoke it, or inject it,
or rent it or borrow it. You can't campaign for it
or beg for it, or talk other people into giving you theirs.
You can live happiness. You can create it. You can be it.
You can give it to others. You can enjoy it. You can share it.
You can claim it. You can have as much as you wish.
You can enjoy it as much as you want, at any time,
under any circumstance. You can work with it,
play with it, worship, travel, eat, and sleep with it.
Happiness is yours to live and yours to give, if only you will.
It comes from the inside, and the best way to experience
it is to get it flowing out.
Forget about trying and striving to get happy.
Just decide to be happy, and happiness is yours.
Ralph
Marston
The grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.
Joseph Addison
writer
(1672-1719)
Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.
Gandhi
A person will be just as happy as they make up their minds to be.
Abraham
Lincoln
Realize that true happiness lies within you. Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside. Remember that there is no happiness in having or in getting, but only in giving. Reach out. Share. Smile. Hug. Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.
Og Mandino
Unhappiness is not knowing what we want and killing ourselves to get it.
Don Herold
Some cause happiness wherever they go; others, whenever they go.
Oscar
Wilde
(1854-1900)
Pleasure has its price.
But happiness is free.
Nils
Kjaer
Happiness is a question of good health and a bad memory.
Ingrid
Bergman
Happiness stems from a clear conscience.
Indian
Proverb
The most revolutionary act one can commit in our world is to be happy.
Hunter
"Patch" Adams
In
daily life we must see that it is not happiness that makes us grateful, but
gratefulness that makes us happy.
unknown
Happiness makes up in height for what it lacks in length.
Robert
Frost
(1875-1963)
The full use of your powers along lines of excellence.
John
F. Kennedy
when asked for his definition of happiness
(1917-1963)
The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do.
Walter Bagehot
Practice being happy whenever and as much as possible! Being happy makes you
feel good!
You are always already happy. The reason you don't experience it is that it's covered up by layers of suppressed emotions and negative thoughts. Shift your attention and your inherent happiness flashes forth.
Steve
Ross
There is no way to happiness, happiness is the way.
The
Buddha
The recipe for happiness is to accept completely whatever comes and don't care about what doesn't.
Steve
Ross
To
me, happiness is traveling.
Not really "me" traveling, but my Heartsongs traveling.
When the songs in my heart travel out and around the world
In the things that I say and in the poems and stories that I write
And in the prayers that I feel to God,
And when the letters and words of those Heartsongs bring some
Peace to the countries and people who have war in their lives,
That is real happiness to me.
Mattie
J.T. Stepanek
(1990-2004)
Happiness
is like a cat. If you try to coax it or call it, it will avoid you. It will
never come. But if you pay no attention to it and go about your business,
you'll find it rubbing up against your legs and jumping into your lap.
William
Bennett
Getting
what you go after is success; but liking it while you are getting it is happiness.
Bertha
Damon
Happiness
is to be found along the way, not at the end of the road, for then the journey
is over and it is too late. Today, this hour, this minute is the day, the
hour, the minute for each of us to sense the fact that life is good, with
all of its trials and troubles, and perhaps more interesting because of them.
Robert
R. Updegraff
Happiness
cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual
experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.
Denis Waitley
